New Stuff
It is official. We received the movie license for 2008 which means that in order to get our money's worth we are going to have to show a butt-load of films. I am in the process - though early in the process I must admit - of putting together the list of movies and a schedule for this season. At this point all I know is that the first show is going to be towards the end of March - and hopefully on a dry Friday or Saturday (probably Saturday) evening.
I am interested in what everyones' suggestions are for movies this season. What would you like to see on the big screen (for free)?
Speaking of the big screen...I've got some bad news. Actually, it's sort of good news bad news. But we'll start with the bad news. The bad news is that our movie screen on the side of the silos now has a metal cable tray running directly through it courtesy of a certain wireless cell phone company. Not to name names but it begins with an A & ends with a T. So the old screen is toast. It was fun while it lasted.
Now the good news: we are going to have another screen just next door on another building - this one with a flat surface! Now for more bad news - I still have to paint a screen on the building. Damn. The last one was a lot of work.
But I think the new screen, once in place, will be awesome.
Now let's brainstorm together. For the first movie of the season I want a blockbuster - something to kick the season off with a bang. Something that screams of Hollywood, and drive-ins, and everything that makes movies great. The epitome of the film experience. What is that movie? Or maybe we need something that relates to our new home - maybe a film that is climbing related? That narrows down the options quite a bit.

I think you should show "Cannonball Run." For no particular reason, it's just my go-to film right now. Especially if you can get someone to come in an ambulance.
Anyhow, I'm glad you have spare Giant Screens around. Glad the cable tray wasn't a showstopper.
The Road Warrior
Temple of Doom or Raiders of the Lost Ark [ those have climbing :) ]
Heathers
True Romance
The Thing
Blazing Saddles
The Dirty Dozen (1967 version)
